Taylor Swift fans have turned the guessing game of which surprise songs she’ll perform during her Eras Tour into a major event. However, the anticipation for her acoustic set at her London shows has reached new heights.
The 34-year-old singer is scheduled for three concerts at Wembley Stadium in London on June 21, 22, and 23. She will return in August for five more shows to conclude the European leg of her tour.
London is a city with deep personal significance for Swift. It was central to multiple songs during her relationship with Joe Alwyn, whom she dated from 2016 to 2023. On her 2019 album Lover, she highlighted her favorite London spots in “London Boy,” believed to be a tribute to Alwyn.
In contrast, Swift explored a more somber connection to London in “So Long, London” from her latest album The Tortured Poets Department, reflecting the end of her romance with Alwyn.
Swift’s surprise song selection included one she co-wrote with ex Calvin Harris. Another track, “The Black Dog” from her 11th album, references a London pub and may nod to her brief relationship with Matty Healy.
Swift first mentioned London long before her relationships with Alwyn and Healy, specifically in the songs “Come Back…Be Here” and “Message in a Bottle” from Red.
In a June 15 interview with The Sunday Times, Alwyn broke his silence on their split, expressing empathy for those navigating the end of long-term relationships.
