Lucy Hale’s Potential Return to the ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Franchise
Lucy Hale, who played a key role in the original series of ‘Pretty Little Liars’, has expressed interest in the possibility of returning to the franchise in the future. The reboot series, ‘Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin’, has already made references to its predecessor and features a character from the original series. With fans hopeful to see the original stars making appearances in the new episodes, Hale’s own willingness to consider such a cameo adds to the buzz.
The actress is thrilled at the continuation of ‘Pretty Little Liars’ through its reboot series, ‘Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin’, and is open to reprising her role. Starring as one of the main characters in the original series, Hale played Aria Montgomery from 2010 to 2017 in what became one of the most popular teen dramas of the decade.
Hale’s Stance on a Possible Return
In a recent interview with MovieWeb, while promoting her new movie ‘Which Brings Me to You’, Hale was asked about her views on the reboot and if she would consider returning to it. She responded:
“I forget how my character Aria is involved, but I know she’s been mentioned in some way. I mean, I never say ‘never.’ That show was the biggest gift in my life. That was an experience that changed my life in every way, shape and form. And I hold so much gratitude for that experience. I don’t know if I’d ever do a reboot, but who knows? I’m happy they’re letting it live on. I think it’s amazing. I think it’s a great premise. So I’m in full support of that.”
‘Pretty Little Liars’: A Brief Recap
The premise of ‘Pretty Little Liars’ focused on a group of friends – Aria Montgomery, Spencer Hastings, Emily Fields, Hanna Marin – who fell apart after a friend, Alison DiLaurentis, mysteriously disappeared. The story kicks off with Aria returning home after moving away with her family, leading to the group’s reunion and their receipt of mysterious messages threatening to reveal their secrets.
Five years after the original series ended, the franchise was rebooted with ‘Original Sin’, which elicited numerous references and Easter eggs from ‘Pretty Little Liars’. One particular reference relates to Hale’s character’s present life after the original series ended.
