So, what can fans expect from “What Happens Later?”
The film centers on two ex-partners, Bill (Duchovny) and Willa (Ryan), who find themselves stranded at a regional airport overnight due to a snowstorm. Forced into each other’s company, the duo find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other yet again, while they also grapple with past annoyance. As they journey into their shared history and weigh their current lives against their old dreams, they start to question if their chance meeting is purely luck, or if there’s a sprinkle of magic involved.
Ryan takes the helm for “What Happens Later”, directing from a screenplay she co-penned with Steven Dietz and Lynn, building off Dietz’s inspired play, “Shooting Star”. The romantic rediscovery, rated R, is brought to life thanks to the adept hands of producers Jonathan Duffy, Kelly Williams, Laura D. Smith, and Kristin Mann.
