Ever found yourself buzzing with the rush of the final curtain call? Or fiercely debated which Sondheim show really takes the cake? Maybe you’ve even lost yourself in an intense round of zip zap zop?
Then, you’re gonna love this: Theater Camp’s trailer just dropped, and it’s pretty much an affectionate roasting of every theater kid out there.
This slice-of-life from the directors Nick Lieberman and Molly Gordon drops us smack in the middle of AdirondACTS, a scrappy theater camp nestled in the upstate New York.
And it’s here that our passionate drama coaches, Amos (played by the fab Ben Platt) and Rebecca-Diane (our co-director Molly Gordon), are bent on molding young wannabes into Broadway big shots.
There’s also a side of reality-check on the menu, because hey, not everyone is going to make it to the bright lights.
But just when things are heating up, Troy (comedian Jimmy Tatro going full tech bro mode) shows up to turn the place on its head. What’s next?
Amos, Rebecca-Diane, and the rest of the crew – including Noah Galvin, Ayo Edebiri, Owen Thiele, and Nathan Lee Graham – get three weeks to pull a musical rabbit out of their hat and save AdirondACTS from disaster. No pressure, right?
Mark your calendars, folks, because Theater Camp is strutting onto the big screen come July 14.
