In April, Netflix subscribers can expect a slew of new and exciting contents such as the much-anticipated rip-roaring new series adaptation featuring Patricia Highsmith’s most infamous creation. Other big titles rolling out include an uncomfortable interview with an infamous prince, the highly valued second part of Zack Snyder’s space opera, and a thrilling paranormal detective show within Neil Gaiman’s distinguished Sandman Universe.
‘Ripley’ Makes Its Arrival
The critically acclaimed actor, Andrew Scott, steps into in the shoes of Tom Ripley, in Netflix’s fresh take on Ripley, premiering on April 4. This adaptation of Highsmith’s 1955 crime novel, The Talented Mr. Ripley, is set to be screened in black-and-white. Supporting Scott is a powerhouse cast including Dakota Fanning, Johnny Flynn, and newcomer Eliot Sumner. Hailing originally from Showtime, Ripley was given new life by Netflix, under the direction and writing of Steven Zaillian, an Oscar award-winner.
‘Scoop’ Offers An Awkward Glimpse
Following the premier of Ripley is Scoop which portrays one of the most cringe-worthy interviews ever televised. It reenacts Prince Andrew’s ill-famed 2019 BBC interview where he tries to explain his association with the late convicted Jeffrey Epstein, while also defending himself against sexual assault allegations. Applying her talent to this project is Gillian Anderson as journalist, Emily Maitlis, and Rufus Sewell as Prince Andrew.
Zack Snyder’s ‘Rebel Moon’
Stay tuned for the second part of Zack Snyder’s $150 million-plus sci-fi epic Rebel Moon, which lands on April 19. Concentrating on Kora and her team’s home-protecting endeavors, Part Two: The Scargiver banks on a solid ensemble cast that includes Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein and many more, alongside Cary Elwes and Anthony Hopkins reprising their roles from the first film.
‘Dead Boy Detectives’ Join The Sandman Universe
April 25 will see the debut of Dead Boy Detectives, a spinoff from Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner’s DC comic book series the The Sandman. The live-action series will feature supernatural detectives Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland, both sharing the universe with Gaiman’s existing Sandman already streaming on Netflix.
