The action comedy “The Fall Guy” from Universal Studios markedly disappointed at the box office, collecting only $28.5 million during its opening weekend. It’s sandwiched between Gosling’s roles in the movies “Barbie,” yielding $162 million, and “Blade Runner 2049,” generating $32.7 million. Meanwhile, Emily Blunt has had this movie rank as her ninth-highest opening, just a tad behind “Edge of Tomorrow,” which totaled $28.7 million.

In other news, the 25th-anniversary edition of “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace,” directed by George Lucas, added a considerable $8.1 million (domestic) and $14.5M (global) to its impressive gross. The horror flick “Tarot” debuted this week, however, it only managed to scrounge up a rather unimpressive $6.5 million from 3,104 theaters.
