CinemaCon is back, and with it, a sneak peek at the much-anticipated ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3.’
The original 2002 hit and its 2016 sequel were just the appetizer. Now, in this third act, we’re headed directly to Greece! As per Focus Features, we’re in for a hilarious and heartwarming family reunion packed with unexpected twists.
Nia Vardalos, who is reprising her role as Toula, has not only written but also directed this installment. Backed by the production prowess of Rita Wilson, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman, and a return of the original star-studded cast, the anticipation is sky-high.
The Greek Reunion
During the Universal and Focus presentation, exclusive footage from ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3’ was showcased. The film’s tone was familiar yet fresh, with Vardalos’s character, Toula, on a mission to honor her father’s last wishes.
The footage also revealed a ‘Mamma Mia’-esque vibe with scenic backdrops and lively family interactions. A humorous exchange about day drinking between Vardalos’s character and her on-screen mother wrapped things up.
‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3’ is set to hit theaters on September 8, 2023. Can’t wait to see you there!
