Amazon is developing a live-action series based on the comic book series Spider-Man Noir

Spider-Man Noir gets his own live action show

Amazon is currently developing a live-action series based on the Marvel character Spider-Man Noir. This series will not feature Peter Parker, the traditional Spider-Man, but instead will focus on an older version of the superhero set in 1930s New York City. Oren Uziel is writing the series, which is being developed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the producers of the animated Spider-Man movie Into the Spider-Verse, and former Sony head Amy Pascal. The show will be part of a separate Spider-Verse and won’t be related to the upcoming Silk: Spider Society series from Angela Kang.

Spider-Man Noir first appeared in the comics in 2009 as part of Marvel’s Marvel Noir universe. This version of the character gained his powers from a spider hidden in a stolen artifact and was granted visions of an ancient spider god. This live-action series will be the first take on the character, and Nicolas Cage voiced the character in the animated series Ultimate Spider-Man and Into the Spider-Verse.

The upcoming Spider-Man Noir series adds to the other Spider-Man content that is currently in the works. This includes the upcoming movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, as well as other live-action films such as Madame Web, El Muerto, Kraven the Hunter, and a third Venom movie. Tom Holland’s future as Spider-Man in the MCU is still up in the air, as well.

No word yet on who will play Spider-Man Noir, but fans have already begun speculating about who could take on the role. Who would you cast as the grizzled, noir version of Spider-Man?
