Sizzling in the rumor mill, actress Anya Taylor-Joy is purportedly in discussions about joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in an undisclosed role. Amidst doubts about the ambitious project that’s likely to have a budget surpassing $200 million, the appointment of director Matt Shakman feels pivotal. Marvel’s president, Kevin Feige, selected TV director Shakman, known for his works in “WandaVision” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Shakman’s only feature film, 2014’s “Cut Bank,” fared poorly with critics and moviegoers alike.
After two dismal attempts in 2005 and 2007, and the disappointing ‘Fant4stic’ reboot in 2015, Marvel is planning another cinematic adaptation of Fantastic Four. As long as the MCU uses lesser-known filmmakers without giving them creative liberty, their fate remains uncertain.
Production And Release Schedule
‘Fantastic Four’ is set to kickstart its production at Pinewood Studios in London in Spring 2024. The movie will hit the theatres on May 2, 2025, and find its place in Phase 5 of the MCU and the Multiverse Saga.
