Aldis Hodge Hunts Twisted Serial Killer in New ‘Cross’ Trailer

Aldis Hodge takes on the role of detective Alex Cross in the gripping trailer for Cross, a crime thriller series premiering on Prime Video on November 14. Based on characters from James Patterson’s renowned novels, the series follows Cross, a top detective in the Metro PD who uses forensic psychology to delve into the minds of killers and their victims.

The latest teaser reveals Cross entangled in a deadly game with a psychotic genius who dons a menacing mask. “I’m not a monster. I don’t kill for fun… And when I’m done, the world will know the truth,” the mysterious antagonist declares, hinting at a personal vendetta that pushes Cross to his limits.

As Cross investigates a series of murders where victims are manipulated to appear as suicides or accidental overdoses, he tells his skeptical colleagues, “Whoever killed him had to change him into something else first.” Despite his professional acumen, Cross grapples with personal turmoil, still mourning the murder of his wife a year earlier and struggling to accept the love and support he needs.

“You’re not managing very well,” remarks Cross’s police partner, played by Isaiah Mustafa, highlighting the detective’s internal struggle. The tension escalates when Cross discovers a defaced family photo, with his wife’s face and his own eyes obscured. “He was in my house,” Cross says in shock, intensifying the suspense in this pulse-pounding thriller.

Cross is created by showrunner and writer Ben Watkins and produced by Paramount Television Studios, Amazon MGM Studios, and Skydance Television. Notably, the series has already been renewed for a second season ahead of its first-season debut, with the initial eight episodes set to stream worldwide on Prime Video.
