Michael B. Jordan Fights Supernatural Forces in First Trailer for Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’

Frequent collaborators Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan reunite in the first trailer for ‘Sinners’, a vampire feature set to hit theaters on March 7, 2025. The trailer offers a glimpse into a mysterious new world, marking a departure from their previous projects like ‘Creed’ and ‘Black Panther’.

In the intriguing preview, Jordan’s character, Smoke, reflects on his past experiences and hints at encountering supernatural elements for the first time. The footage showcases people fleeing unseen dangers and unsettling events, building anticipation for the film’s suspenseful narrative. The trailer culminates with Smoke leading a group poised for confrontation as a preacher warns about the perils of engaging with evil forces.

The film’s synopsis teases a “new vision of fear”, stating: “Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”

Directed and written by Ryan Coogler, the film also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, and Delroy Lindo.

‘Sinners’ is particularly anticipated as it represents an original work from Coogler rather than an adaptation of existing intellectual property. Warner Bros. secured the rights after a bidding war in February, with a unique agreement that returns the rights to the filmmaker after a number of years.

Coogler and Jordan have a long-standing collaborative history, beginning with 2013’s ‘Fruitvale Station’, and continuing through ‘Creed’ and ‘Black Panther’. Jordan, who has since made his directorial debut with ‘Creed III’, reunites with Coogler to bring this new vision to life.

Produced by Coogler’s Proximity Media along with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, the film features executive producers Ludwig Göransson, Will Greenfield, and Rebecca Cho.
