Elle Fanning Joins OnlyFans in A24 & Kelley’s ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ for Apple TV+

Elle Fanning leads the cast in Apple TV+’s adaptation of Rufi Thorpe’s novel Margo’s Got Money Troubles, joining Michelle Pfeiffer and Nicole Kidman, Variety confirms. The eight-episode series was ordered by Apple in February following a competitive multi-platform bidding war.

The story centers on Margo Millet (played by Elle Fanning), the daughter of a Hooters waitress (portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer) and an ex-pro wrestler. Now an unemployed single mother in her early 20s, Margo struggles to make ends meet, leading her to launch an OnlyFans account. When her estranged father reenters her life, she begins incorporating his pro wrestling lessons into her online content, leading to unexpected success.

This role marks another high-profile TV project for Pfeiffer in recent months. She was previously reported to star in Taylor Sheridan’s series ‘The Madison’ for Paramount. Although primarily known for her film work, Pfeiffer has ventured more into television recently. She starred as Betty Ford in Showtime’s ‘The First Lady’ and received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her role in HBO’s ‘The Wizard of Lies’. In film, she has been nominated for three Academy Awards for ‘Dangerous Liaisons’, ‘The Fabulous Baker Boys’, and ‘Love Field’. Her other notable films include ‘Batman Returns’, ‘Scarface’, and ‘White Oleander’.

Pfeiffer is represented by CAA, Entertainment360, and Hirsch Wallerstein.

Published in June by William Morrow, ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ is being adapted by David E. Kelley, who is writing, executive producing, and serving as showrunner. Fanning, Kidman, and Pfeiffer will all executive produce in addition to starring. Additional executive producers include Brittany Kahan Ward and Dakota Fanning through the Fannings’ Lewellen Pictures, Per Saari of Kidman’s Blossom Films, and Matthew Tinker for David E. Kelley Productions. Author Rufi Thorpe is also an executive producer. The series is being produced by A24.
