“NBA 2K25” is gearing up for its launch on September 6, featuring a groundbreaking cover that includes athletes from both the NBA and WNBA for the first time in the franchise’s history.
The standard cover will highlight Jayson Tatum, the five-time NBA All-Star and reigning NBA Champion from the Boston Celtics. Alongside him, the “All-Star Edition” will feature A’ja Wilson, a two-time WNBA MVP, six-time WNBA All-Star, and back-to-back WNBA Champion from the Las Vegas Aces. Wilson will also grace the cover solo for the GameStop exclusive WNBA edition, while the “NBA 2K25 Hall of Fame Edition” will spotlight NBA dunk contest legend Vince Carter.
“NBA 2K25” will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. This release marks a first for the franchise, as “NBA 2K25” will offer mode parity between PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, including MyNBA, The W, and The City modes with New-Gen ProPLAYTM technology. However, crossplay support will only be available for PS5 and Xbox consoles, excluding PC.
According to the game’s description, “NBA 2K25” will enable players to build a dynasty in MyCAREER, explore new MyTEAM modes, and for those on New-Gen platforms, experience an additional sixth era in MyNBA, a more interactive and compact City, and an opportunity to solidify their G.O.A.T. status in The W. Current-Gen platforms will also see updates in MyCAREER and MyTEAM, alongside a new Neighborhood metropolis for quests, rewards, and rival eclipses.
