Joseph Quinn Hints at Eddie Munson’s Return in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5
Joseph Quinn has teased the possibility of reprising his role as Eddie Munson in the final season of the Netflix drama, Stranger Things. Fans of the show will recall Eddie’s heroic demise in season 4, where he sacrificed himself to help Dustin (played by Gaten Matarazzo) fend off Vecna’s Demobats.
Responding to Rachel Smith from Entertainment Tonight Entertainment Tonight interview, Quinn hinted at Eddie’s potential return. When Smith mentioned she had a “feeling” Eddie could be back, Quinn coyly replied, “I might have that feeling too. Or maybe I don’t. Who knows? Maybe I do…”
Speaking during the New York premiere of A Quiet Place: Day One on Wednesday, June 26, Quinn elaborated on his sentiments about the show. While he did not confirm Eddie’s return, he expressed his desire to visit the Stranger Things set to support the cast and crew as they conclude the series. “I love those guys. I’d love to come and say hello,” Quinn said. “I’m sure they’re working very hard to land the plane. It’s a long time they’ve been working on that, so I’m really delighted they’re getting towards the end and having a nice time. I’m sure they’re gonna deliver it in a pretty epic finale.”

Quinn’s former co-star Maya Hawke recently shared her thoughts on the series concluding. “It’s already starting to be heartbreaking, you know? I mean, it’s the end of a really long journey,” Hawke said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “Longer for some of my castmates, even, than for me. So it’s really sentimental. But as a late addition cast member, I feel like it’s my job to be here to facilitate their feelings and just be grateful and excited to have been a part of it at all.”
Millie Bobby Brown, who has played Eleven since the show’s inception, expressed readiness to move on from her role. In a conversation with Seventeen magazine in March 2023, she stated, “I’m definitely ready to wrap up. I feel like there’s a lot of the story that’s been told now.
