Tom Hardy Denies ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ Casting

Production has begun on Wake Up Dead Man, and rumors about the cast for Knives Out 3 have emerged, suggesting Tom Hardy might join. However, the actor has addressed these speculations.

Tom Hardy denies Knives Out 3 casting, but thinks it “sounds cool”

Tom Hardy has clarified that he is not involved in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. Despite the film’s trend of casting well-known actors alongside Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc, Hardy confirmed he wouldn’t be appearing.

In an interview with ET, the actor addressed the rumors:

“Nobody’s called me about this. This came out in the Google machine this morning, and even I was like ‘What’s this?’ Someone’s gotta ask me.”

While Hardy admitted it would be “cool” to join Rian Johnson’s next Knives Out installment, he confirmed he had not been approached. He concluded, “Sounds cool, but no one’s asked me. That’s showbiz, right? Maybe I am in it!”

Everyone confirmed for the Knives Out 3 cast

The confirmed cast for Knives Out 3 includes Daniel Craig, Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Glenn Close, Mila Kunis, Josh Brolin, Kerry Washington, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church.

Jeremy Renner is also set to appear in a significant role, which will not be a cameo like his hot sauce appearance in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Director Rian Johnson commented:

“Jeremy’s a great actor who I’ve wanted to work with for a long time. I was very relieved he thought the hot sauce thing was funny! He’s playing a proper part in this one, we’ll keep the sauce off-screen. Maybe we’ll sneak a few bottles onto the catering table.”

The plot of Wake Up Dead Man is currently undisclosed. Filming is underway, and the film is expected to release on Netflix in 2025.
