A fresh teaser trailer for Extraction 2, the Netflix action hit’s follow-up, resolves a significant question for fans of the initial movie. Tyler Rake, the mercenary played by Chris Hemsworth, is alive and well, prepared for another black ops mission.
Rake, the Australian black ops soldier who endured the first film’s events, is now faced with a new challenge in Extraction 2. He must rescue a brutal Georgian mobster’s battered family from a jail where they are being detained.
Hemsworth reunites with director Sam Hargrave for the sequel, with AGBO, Joe and Anthony Russo’s production company, producing and Joe Russo writing the script. Golshifteh Farahani returns to her original role in the new film, with Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili co-starring.
Extraction 2 is a continuation of the first film, which was based on Ande Parks’ graphic novel Ciudad. The film is produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Chris Hemsworth, Patrick Newall, and Sam Hargrave, with Angela Russo-Otstot, Jake Aust, Benjamin Grayson, Steven Scavelli, Christopher Markus, and Stephen McFeely serving as executive producers.
Netflix is set to release Extraction 2 on June 16, 2023.
