Jimmy Kimmel Producing Weed Reality Series for Hulu

Hulu, the Disney-backed streaming service, is planning to commemorate April 20 with a new docuseries titled “High Hopes”. The six-episode series, executively produced by Jimmy Kimmel, follows the journey of two Belarus-born brothers running a cannabis shop in Hollywood. The series builds up to their biggest day of the year – April 20, documents their trials and tribulations, and their efforts to expand nationwide and release their top-shelf cannabis brand.

High Hopes: A Workplace Reality Series

“High Hopes”, described by Hulu as a “workplace reality series,” revolves around Belarus-born brothers Slava and Mishka and their stoned crew at MMD, one of the oldest cannabis dispensaries in Hollywood. Over the course of the series, viewers will get a glimpse of their struggles and triumphs, meet their weed-loving customers, and witness their attempts to expand nationwide and launch their own premium cannabis brand. The big question is: will they succeed or will their hopes go up in smoke?

Series Premiere and Production Details

Slated for premiere on April 20 on Hulu, “High Hopes” is appropriate for mature audiences and will be rated TV-MA. The series is produced under Jimmy Kimmel’s banner, Kimmelot, in partnership with ITV America. Other executive producers include Scott Lonker, Ben Steinbauer, Tim Cohen-Laurie, and Karl Hollandt. Steinbauer will also serve as the series’ showrunner.
