Guy Ritchie returns to the world of stylish crime dramas with “MobLand,” a new Paramount+ series premiering on March 30. The show centers on two warring London crime families, the Harrigans and the Stevensons, as they fight for dominance. Caught in the middle is Harry Da Souza, a street-smart fixer with ties to both factions who must navigate the volatile underworld to survive.
Featuring a powerhouse ensemble cast, “MobLand” stars Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Geoff Bell, Daniel Betts, Lisa Dwan, Helen Mirren, and Emily Barber. Mirren, already a familiar face on Paramount+ thanks to her role in “1923,” joins the series in what promises to be another intense crime saga.
Originally conceived as “The Donovans,” a spin-off of Showtime’s “Ray Donovan,” the series was reworked under showrunner Ronan Bennett (“The Day of the Jackal”) to stand on its own. The official synopsis teases a brutal power struggle where “lines will be crossed” and “family above everything” is the only guarantee.
In addition to Ritchie, executive producers include Keith Cox, Nina L. Diaz, David C. Glasser, Jez Butterworth, Ronan Bennett, Kris Thykier, Ivan Atkinson, Tom Hardy, Dean Baker, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, and Bob Yari.
