Buzz and anticipation are at a fever pitch for Nia DaCosta’s highly anticipated The Marvels, which has just released a new sneak peek following its inaugural trailer launch in April.
The Marvels, a blockbuster Marvel Studios ensemble film, is set to expand the universe of the teen phenomenon Ms. Marvel, aka Kamala Khan (played by Iman Vellani in a continuation from her Disney+ series), by staging the crossover event of her dreams.
The film stars Kamala’s ultimate role models: Monica Rambeau (portrayed by Teyonah Parris) and Captain Marvel herself (Brie Larson). This fresh trailer allows a deeper dive into the challenges this trio of super-heroines will face.
While the newly released trailer doesn’t offer a plethora of new information, it does allow us a further glimpse into Zawe Ashton’s enigmatic antagonist, Dar-Benn, revealing a bit more about her agenda.
It seems her focus is squarely on revenge against Carol Danvers, utilizing another bracelet similar to the one that originally activated Kamala’s powers.
Chaos ensues as the powers of all three super-heroines – and their intrinsic connection to light – cause them to swap locations across the cosmos when using their abilities.
However, for the star-struck Kamala, the most thrilling part is undoubtedly the promised team-up – the only way to halt Dar-Benn’s destructive plans.
