In the wild expanse of 1870s Montana, Samuel L. Jackson and Pierce Brosnan star in a new Western film, “The Unholy Trinity,” where lost gold and old grudges ignite the dusty landscape. In a town named Trinity, the plot thickens like gravy left out too long, as a young man with revenge on his mind finds himself tangled between a sheriff with questionable charm and a mysterious legend.
Golden Drama Unfolds
Saban Films and Roadside Attractions are unleashing this cowboy flick, directed by Richard Gray, into theaters nationwide on June 13. The cast includes an ensemble who, one imagines, have all spent too much time at the local saloon.
– Jackson and Brosnan lead with their familiar faces and undeniable gravitas.
– Brandon Lessard plays Henry Broadway, a character on a vengeance tour that would make any Angsty Teen proud.
– Supporting stars include Veronica Ferres, Gianni Capaldi, Q’orianka Kilcher, Tim Daly, Ethan Peck, Katrina Bowden, and David Arquette, who may or may not reprise his role from “Scream.”
A Dance of Wits and Wills
As the plot unfurls, Brosnan offers cryptic advice like a fortune cookie at the world’s most foreboding diner. “Not every man who is known is loved,” he says—wisdom truly fit for quilting. Meanwhile, Jackson’s character, St. Christopher, reminisces about gold-plated dreams with a dash of nostalgia mixed with a hint of possibly misplaced confidence.
The Minds Behind the Magic
Gray, known for “Murder at Yellowstone City,” directs from a script by Lee Zachariah. The producers sound like a proper league of masterminds: Carter Boehm, Kellie Lessard Brooks, Jeanne Allgood Gaisford, Michele Gray, Colin Floom, and Cameron Lessard.
Brosnan, never one to shy from a packed schedule, mentions having “four movies in the can,” which presumably sit in the pantry next to the beans and existential dread. Such is the life of the cinematic polymath.
And so, as you twiddle your thumbs and ponder life’s riddles, ask yourself: Do cowboys dream of electric sheep?
