Duster Trailer Reunites LOST Alumni J.J. Abrams & Josh Holloway

The high-octane crime drama Duster, from J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan, is officially set to hit Max on Thursday, May 15. The eight-episode season will roll out weekly, culminating in the finale on July 3. And to stir up excitement, Max has dropped the first teaser trailer, giving viewers a glimpse into the action-packed 1970s-set thriller.

Set in 1972, Duster follows Nina (Rachel Hilson), the first Black female FBI agent, who heads to the Southwest and ropes in a risk-taking getaway driver (Josh Holloway) to help dismantle a rising crime syndicate. The series not only marks Abrams’ latest venture but also reunites him with Lost alum Holloway, ensuring some nostalgic star power.

The teaser kicks off with an intense exchange between Hilson’s Nina and Holloway’s driver. “I was warned not to come see you, that you’re nothing but a loyal driver,” she tells him. But things quickly escalate when Keith David’s character pointedly asks Holloway, “How do you feel about violence?”—a cue for a montage of high-energy action and fight sequences that promise plenty of grit and adrenaline.

Beyond Hilson and Holloway, the cast features Keith David, Sydney Elisabeth, Greg Grunberg, Camille Guaty, Asivak Koostachin, Adriana Aluna Martinez, and Benjamin Charles Watson. The first two episodes are penned by Abrams and Morgan, with Steph Green directing and executive producing. Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich produce under Bad Robot, while Morgan produces under TinkerToy Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
