Brad Pitt and George Clooney are set to reunite on the big screen as two lone-wolf fixers in Jon Watts’ upcoming action comedy “Wolfs.” The film, hitting theaters on September 20 through Sony, sees the duo forced to collaborate after being assigned the same mission.
The trailer kicks off with Clooney, clad in gloves, cleaning up what seems to be a gruesome crime scene. He reassures a woman with the line, “There’s nobody who can do what I do.” Moments later, Pitt arrives, dressed similarly and equally ready for action.
The star-studded cast also includes Austin Abrams, Amy Ryan, and Poorna Jagannathan. Pitt and Clooney, who are also producers on the film, have teamed up through their respective production companies, Plan B Productions and Smokehouse Pictures. Apple won the film in a competitive bidding war, with Sony Pictures Releasing handling distribution.
“Wolfs” is a significant reunion for Pitt and Clooney, who previously co-starred in the “Ocean’s” trilogy and last appeared together in 2008’s “Burn After Reading.” Pitt’s latest role was in Damien Chazelle’s “Babylon,” while Clooney recently reprised his role as Bruce Wayne in DC’s “The Flash.”
The supporting cast brings a mix of experience and rising talent. Austin Abrams, known for his roles in “Euphoria,” “Dash and Lily,” “Do Revenge,” and “Chemical Hearts,” joins the film alongside Amy Ryan, acclaimed for her performances in “Gone Baby Gone,” “The Office,” and “Beautiful Boy.” Poorna Jagannathan, recognized for her work in Mindy Kaling’s “Never Have I Ever” and HBO’s “The Night Of,” also stars.
Director Jon Watts is renowned for his work on the MCU “Spider-Man” films starring Tom Holland, which include “Homecoming,” “Far From Home,” and “No Way Home.” His filmography also includes “Clown” and “Cop Car,” and he is set to direct the 2024 Disney+ series “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.”
