HBO Sets ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Release for 2025

In a recent development confirmed by HBO’s Casey Bloys, fans of the hit series “Euphoria” will have to mark their calendars for 2025. During a press briefing, Bloys unveiled a preview that included the highly anticipated Season 3 of “Euphoria” under the banner “Coming in 2025,” alongside other awaited titles like the second season of “The Last of Us,” the third season of “The White Lotus,” and the “It” prequel “Welcome to Derry.”

Details about the third installment of the acclaimed “Euphoria” remain under wraps. However, in August, show creator Sam Levinson hinted at a shift towards a “film noir” style. Through the journey of Zendaya’s character, Rue, Levinson aims to delve into the nuances of maintaining integrity in a morally ambiguous world.

The ensemble cast of “Euphoria,” which features Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Angus Cloud, Barbie Ferreira, and Dominic Fike, portrays the turbulent lives of teenagers entangled in issues of substance abuse, romantic entanglements, and delinquency.

However, the cast has undergone changes; Barbie Ferreira announced her exit from the show in August 2022, and will not be part of the upcoming season. In a more somber update, Angus Cloud passed away at the age of 25 earlier this year. Production for the new season has not commenced.

Aside from “Euphoria,” Sam Levinson launched “The Idol” on HBO, co-created with Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, featuring Lily-Rose Depp and Tesfaye in leading roles. Despite its initial buzz, “The Idol” was discontinued after its first five-episode run this summer.

Moreover, HBO has shared that “House of the Dragon” Season 2 will hit the screens in early summer 2024, along with a sneak peek trailer for the press. Also in the pipeline is “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight,” a spinoff from the “Game of Thrones” universe, expected to start production next spring, contingent on the resolution of the current SAG-AFTRA strike.
