In the new indie thriller, Influencer, we’re led through the narrative of Madison, a virtual sensation and celebrated social platform star, portrayed by Emily Tennant of Riverdale fame. Despite her glamorous online posts, Madison’s Thailand journey is rather solitary and mundane. While ruminating over her beau’s canceled participation, she encounters the adventurous and mysterious CW, brought to life by Cassandra Naud from the series, See.
The duo embarks on a journey, delighting in authentic local cuisine and spirits, contrasting Madison’s digital fame with CW’s social media non-existence. After exploring countless visually stunning locations, CW leads Madison to an unexpected destination – a secluded deserted island, far removed from any semblance of cyber connectivity.
Penned and directed by Kurtis David Harder, known for his previous works, Harpoon, Superhost, and V/H/S 94, Influencer is set to premiere exclusively on Shudder on Friday, May 26. The film will also be up for streaming on AMC+.
Kurtis David Harder, Tesh Guttikonda, Brandon Christensen, Jack Campbell, and Micah Henry were all onboard the production of Influencer. Shot amidst the exotic locales of Thailand, the film’s star-studded cast also includes Sara Canning from The Vampire Diaries and Rory J. Saper from The Legend of Tarzan.
