Robin Williams’ Son Posts Sweet Tribute on His Birthday

Zak Williams, son of the late comedian Robin Williams, shared a heartfelt message on social media to honor what would have been his father’s 73rd birthday.

“On what would be your 73rd birthday, I remember you for all the hope and joy you brought to the world,” wrote Zak Williams, 41. “There’s not a week that goes by without someone sharing with me how you helped them through a dark time or a rough patch.”

Zak also shared a candid photo of Robin Williams in a meditation pose, exuding calm with a small smile on his face.

“I’m so grateful to be your son,” Zak concluded. “Love you forever.”

Robin Williams, known for his roles in Dead Poets Society and Mrs. Doubtfire, passed away on August 11, 2014, at the age of 63. He was diagnosed posthumously with Lewy body dementia, a neurodegenerative disorder that shares symptoms with Parkinson’s disease, which he had been mistakenly diagnosed with a few months before his death.

In honor of his legacy, Zak and his sister Zelda are active in promoting mental health awareness. Their mother, Susan Schneider Williams, detailed her husband’s final months in a 2016 essay published in the medical journal Neurology.

Zelda Williams, 34, recently made her directorial debut with the zombie rom-com Lisa Frankenstein.
