‘House of the Dragon’ Season 2 Soars in for Early Summer 2024 Premiere

HBO has unveiled a dragon’s hoard of exciting news, with the announcement that “House of the Dragon” Season 2 is set for an early summer 2024 release. The announcement came during a recent press event, where a trailer for the upcoming season was also screened for the media.

The fantasy series, which serves as a prequel to the immensely popular “Game of Thrones,” will continue to explore the intricate history of House Targaryen. Along with this revelation, Casey Bloys of HBO disclosed the network’s production timeline for the “Game of Thrones” spinoff based on George R.R. Martin’s “Dunk and Egg” stories, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.” This project is slated to begin shooting in the coming spring, pending the conclusion of the current SAG-AFTRA strike.

In the same briefing, the network shared updates on several other series. This includes confirmation of “Euphoria” Season 3, which is scheduled to land in 2025. Sam Levinson’s provocative series, starring Emmy-winner Zendaya, will continue its exploration of challenging themes, reportedly adopting a “film noir” approach in its forthcoming season.

“Euphoria” has been a topic of discussion not only for its content but also for its cast changes, with Barbie Ferreira departing the series and the tragic passing of Angus Cloud earlier this year. Production dates for the new season have yet to be announced.
