Frank Castle Returns in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Footage from Marvel’s 2025 Teaser

A new teaser trailer announcing the release date for ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Wolverine’ on Disney+ also previewed all the Marvel shows coming in 2025, including new footage from ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ featuring Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Frank Castle, aka the Punisher. The teaser also confirmed returning faces like Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, alongside Wilson Bethel as Bullseye. A very brief, blink-and-you-miss-it glimpse of the enigmatic villain Muse has also added fuel to fan speculation.

While we’ve recently seen both Cox’s Daredevil in ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’ and D’Onofrio’s Kingpin in ‘Echo,’ it’s intriguing to see Frank Castle back in the mix. Bernthal’s portrayal of the Punisher since his solo Netflix series in 2017 made him a standout among fans.

Darkness Remains in Disney+ Revival

A major concern among fans was whether the gritty darkness of Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ would survive Disney+’s family-friendly vibes. In a recent interview with Collider, Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox confirmed that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ would indeed keep its brooding essence intact. D’Onofrio stated, “We’re continuing the darkness of the first series on Netflix. It is gonna be that dark and that intense. We worked our butts off to make it that way.” He went on to reassure fans, saying, “It is dark. It is crazy. We do some things that are definitely a first for Disney+.”

Disney seems to be treading new ground with this approach, leaning into the darker, more intense vibe that helped ‘Daredevil’ carve out a unique space among superhero shows back on Netflix. With a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s clear the original’s commitment to atmosphere and grit paid off—and, from the sounds of it, that won’t change in ‘Born Again.’
