Silicon Valley Series from Succession Writer Ordered at AMC

AMC and AMC+ have officially given the green light to a new Silicon Valley-set series from Succession writer Jonathan Glatzer. This marks Glatzer’s first major television project since his role as a writer, executive consultant, and supervising producer on the award-winning HBO drama, which aired from 2018 to 2023.

What is the Silicon Valley-set series about?

According to Glatzer, the untitled project takes inspiration from the “frighteningly self-involved people” who are at the helm of today’s technology. The series will be produced by AMC Studios and represents Glatzer’s latest collaboration with AMC, following his stint as a producer on the popular legal drama Better Call Saul.

“Inside the bubble of Silicon Valley, amid misguided corporate cultures, moony innovation labs, and cutthroat private high schools, the series centers on a scandal sparked by the exploitation of personal data, which unravels out of a rift between a self-appointed ‘inventor of the future’ tech CEO and his self-serving ‘performance psychologist,'” reads the official logline (via Variety). “This act of corruption quickly spirals out of control for all involved, exposing the absurdities of ambition, corporate ethics, and the fallibility of the people who are shaping the future of our world.”

AMC Studios head Dan McDermott stated, “Get ready for a captivating, enthralling, authentic look behind the curtain of Silicon Valley. Jonathan is a massive talent and AMC is lucky to be the home of this, his first series creation brought to life. The show, which chronicles the lives of characters creating the world we will all inhabit, is right here and right now. Truth is stranger than fiction, especially here.”
