Jeremy Allen White in Talks for Role of Bruce Springsteen in Upcoming Film

The upcoming biopic, Deliver Me from Nowhere, which revolves around the making of rock legend Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska, might have found its lead actor. This role could potentially see actor Jeremy Allen White transform into The Boss himself. As reported by Deadline, White is currently a serious contender for the role. This news was later corroborated by Variety, which confirmed that White is indeed in discussions for the role.

Nebraska, which was Springsteen’s sixth studio album, marked a shift in the rockstar’s music. It was before the New Jersey icon and the E Street Band rocketed to international stardom in 1984 with Born in the U.S.A. The album was stripped down and noticeably more introspective, and was recorded using a basic 4-track recorder.

The Team Behind the Bruce Springsteen Biopic

The movie Deliver Me from Nowhere is going to be written and directed by Scott Cooper, known for The Pale Blue Eye. The film is drawn from the 2023 book by Warren Zanes titled Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska

The movie production drums up an alliance of heavy-hitters in the industry. Scott Stuber, previously chairman of Netflix films, is joining forces with Eric Robinson and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein of the Gotham Group for this project. Production talks with A24 have commenced as well. Of note is the involvement of Springsteen himself and his manager, Jon Landau, who are reportedly actively participating in the production.
