‘Friends’ Game Show ‘Fast Friends’ Launching on Max for 30th Anniversary Celebration

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the iconic sitcom “Friends,” Max is set to premiere a four-part game show titled “Fast Friends.” Filmed inside The “Friends” Experience: The One in New York—a two-story, 17,000 square-foot attraction featuring 18 nostalgia-filled rooms and recreated sets—the series promises fans an immersive and interactive journey through their favorite moments from the show.

“From racing through Rachel and Monica’s apartment to darting across Joey and Chandler’s bachelor pad and grabbing a coffee at Central Perk, fans will relive their favorite moments while being put to the test with trivia, puzzles, and games that will keep even the most die-hard ‘Friends’ fans on their toes,” according to a press release. The competition will culminate with the winning team being crowned the ultimate “Friends” fans.

Production for “Fast Friends” kicks off in October, though a release date has yet to be announced. Beyond New York, The “Friends” Experience has established a long-term location in London and is set to open soon in Las Vegas. The attraction has toured 25 cities across eight countries, with more locations to be unveiled in the future.

The game show is produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon. Executive producers include Dan Sacks, Bridgette Theriault, and Dan Norris, with Richard Burgio serving as co-executive producer.

In addition to the game show, Max is celebrating the sitcom’s milestone with bonus content, a TikTok filter, a refreshed design for the show’s collection page, themed rails featuring handpicked episodes, and other in-app surprises.

Originally premiering on NBC on September 22, 1994, “Friends” starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer. The series followed the lives of six friends navigating their 20s and early 30s in New York City, becoming one of the most beloved television shows of all time. The cast reunited in the 2021 Max special “Friends: The Reunion” to reflect on the show’s enduring legacy and share cherished memories.
